ENGAGING IN MULTI-STAKEHOLDER DIPLOMACY FOR HEALTH
Negotiating Health in an Interdependent World
Geneva, 25-27 April 2018
Apply by: 26 March 2018
Multi-stakeholder diplomacy is evolving rapidly, not only as a key cross-cutting strategic component in international relations, but also by the magnitude of actors involved in global health. A range of stakeholders from governments, civil society organisations and the private sector play influential roles at varying stages and levels of global health diplomacy. Pressing health issues can only be addressed and solved collectively with all actors being involved. This complexity requires on the one hand, a thorough analysis and assessment of the interests and needs of each stakeholder, and on the other hand, political leadership and negotiation skills to navigate effectively diverse environments. In this executive course you will have the opportunity to:
- Familiarise yourself with the complexities of multi-stakeholder diplomacy and governance for health in the 21st century.
- Apply a differentiated analysis of actors and their interests on specific thematic issues, such as NCDs, AMR and UHC.
- Explore controversial issues, such as marketing of NCDs, regulations for digital health and conflict of interests.
- Improve your efficiency in navigating complex multi-issue and multi-stakeholder environments by enhancing your negotiation skills.
This course can be credited as an advanced module of the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Global Health Diplomacy.
